Its combinator brush gets to the edges and corners and it automatically boosts suction once it spots carpet. It also is effective in cleaning dirt that is embedded in carpets that are mid-pile. The IQ has a small footprint and has a self-emptying feature. If you'd like to change the floor levels or set no-go areas, you'll need to manually reset the map.
The IQ's app has some advanced mapping and automation features but it's missing no-go zones which are included on iRobot models. Its intelligent-pathing navigation system provides superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode cleans well, but it tends to get caught up on rug tassels, and its iHome speaker lets you control the robot using voice commands.
During our tests in our tests, the IQ was capable of handling pet hair with ease, removing huge amounts of debris from floors with no flooring and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was less efficient with shag carpets. It struggled to get at dirt and dust embedded within the fibers. It was able to maneuver the legs of a chair, tiny spaces as well as the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. We did notice it was a little slower on bare floors but it quickly recovered and performed better than the other robots we tested.
The IQ is a better choice for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a larger dustbin, lasts longer on a charge and does a better job of maneuvering itself over obstacles. It comes with mopping tools that can clean up sticky messes. The iRobot however, feels more sturdy and has less components that need maintenance or replacement, incurs less cost per year, and can create virtual no go zones using its companion application. It is able to even resume cleaning from where it left off in case it has run out of battery before having completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice, which can be an enormous benefit for many users.
Eufy 11S

In our tests, the eufy 11S was extremely effective at removing larger debris and fine dust on hard floors. However, it was unable to give high and medium pile carpets an effective deep clean. The device is capable to hit furniture and people along its course. However, it can detect these obstacles using sensors. It ceases and emits a loud sound when it comes across an obstruction. You can then manually steer the device around the obstacle and restart it.
Another great feature of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust the strength of its suction to match floor type and level of the mess. The remote control makes it easy to guide the 11S to the desired place.
If you don't have a lot of furniture in the space where you'd like to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent option. The eufy will spend 30 minutes cleaning the area that it's assigned.
You can also opt for Edge Cleaning which restricts the amount of time spent in each location to 20 minutes to ensure optimal battery life. If you select this option the eufy can move in a spiral to clean edges and corners for an efficient clean.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a fantastic mid-range vacuum cleaner that performs well on carpet. Its performance is also excellent on bare floors. It can pick up small particles such as rice with ease and it doesn't suffer from suction performance even as its dirt bin fills. Its air-sealed and allergy-friendly design capture allergens and keep your family healthy. It comes with an onboard HEPA filter and self-emptying dustbin, so you won't need to purchase additional filters or a separate bag for your vacuum.
It's not quite as powerful as other models, but is still ideal for deep cleaning and taking on staining. The two cameras on the front of the unit provide a live image feed on your smartphone, and it features one of the best obstacles-avoiding systems we've seen.
